080513i-Dennis-BenzanI met Dennis Benzan at the most pivotal time in my life. On May 18, 2009, I received the call that no parent ever looks forward to answering. My 21-year-old son, Justin Cosby, had been shot at Harvard University. My whole life had been turned upside down.

Because Harvard University is one of the most prestigious colleges in the world, they are represented by some of the best law firms known to man. We knew that the road to seeking justice in this whole catastrophe would be challenging, to say the least. Someone told me that trying to sue “Harvard in Boston” is like trying to sue the Pope in Rome. Though many lawyers thought my position had a lot of merit, they were unwilling to try to defend the case by challenging Harvard.

Despite all of my grief and anger, it was clear that we had to seek justice for Justin. After consultation with several attorneys, I was finally referred to Dennis Benzan. Dennis understood there were so many questions left unanswered. Dennis dedicated a great deal of his time seeking justice in obtaining a civil trial against the university although the odds were against us.

I have found Dennis to be a man of character, strength, integrity and tenacity in pursuing justice. He will stand and fight for people who, for one reason or another, may not be able to defend themselves. Dennis’ quest to provide evidence and clarity and seek justice for the masses of people who are not proficient with the legal system is most admired and appreciated.

As a resident of Cambridge, I endorse Dennis Benzan and will be casting my No. 1 Vote for him this November to lead Cambridge as a city councillor. Again, I applaud Dennis Benzan for his outstanding efforts and encourage my fellow Cantabrigians to support somebody who will work tirelessly to protect the city he loves!
