Cambridge Police are searching for a missing 79-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer’s. At about 10 p.m. Thursday, with the man missing for some seven hours, police asked the public’s help.

Robert Kiley left his Brown Street home by foot at about 3 p.m., police were told. His wife believes he may have headed toward Harvard Square, several blocks to the east along Brattle Street, but police said they had searched that area extensively and were not able to find him.

Update on Sept. 12, 2014: Police reported shortly before 6 a.m. that the missing man was found  in good condition in Charlestown.

Kiley is described as approximately 6 feet tall with a slender build. He may be wearing eyeglasses and was last seen wearing a long-sleeved blue dress shirt with stripes and dress pants or jeans.

He last went missing six weeks ago and was found in Newton, said Jeremy Warnick, director of communications and media relations for the Cambridge Police, and police from Newton, Watertown and Belmont are helping search.

Anyone who sees Kiley or may have information about his whereabouts is asked to dial 911 immediately or to call Cambridge Police at (617) 349-3300.
