032615i-QuizzoThere’s no shortage of local trivia nights, but Harvard Square just added one.

Tonight brings the start of monthly games of Quizzo to Shake Shack. The six-round game runs from 7 to 9 p.m. in the eatery’s upstairs loft. The winning team gets $25 in Shake Shack gift cards, but any player is entitled to free fries with whatever other food they buy, according to a publicist’s email.

Quizzo is played nationwide, but dates back to 1993 in Philadelphia – Shake Shack brought its own game there last summer – although expert and emcee Jon Mackey (Pennsylvania’s self-proclaimed king of Quizzo) says it can be traced back to Ireland. In the classic rules, teams can have up to six players, although up to 10 have been known to be allowed. Rounds often have 10 questions each.

Shake Shack is at 92 Winthrop St., Harvard Square. Information is here.
