The Board of Election Commissioners seeks applications from people interested in working at polling locations throughout the city on Election Day. There will be more than 200 election workers on hand to help ensure citizens have a positive voting experience.

Dedication, efficiency, patience and friendliness are assets. Workers are compensated at a rate of $14.95 to $16.95 an hour depending the position assigned, and all will get mandatory paid training. To be hired, they must be registered to vote in Massachusetts, should have reliable transportation and be available to work from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Election Day.

To apply, click here or visit the Election Commission office at 51 Inman St., Mid-Cambridge. An application and RSVP must be in by Monday. The recruitment session from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square. (The recruitment session is unpaid.  Attendance does not guarantee that you will be hired to work on Election Day.)
