From Attorney General Maura Healey’s Office, Aug. 31, 2015: A free educational forum on the Open Meeting Law and its requirements will be held Sept. 17 to educate the public and governmental officials, said Attorney General Maura Healey’s Office.

“This forum is part of a broad effort by the AG’s office to assist public bodies and members of the public in understanding and complying with the requirements of the Open Meeting Law,” which state, local, regional and county public bodies are required to comply with, Healey’s office said.

Other regional educational forums are to be held in Sandwich, Southbridge and Avon this fall, and there will be an online webinar from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 13.

All members of public bodies, municipal employees and members of the general public are encouraged to attend. People interested in attending are asked to register in advance by calling (617) 963-2925 or by sending email to [email protected], and providing their first and last names; town of residence; the public body/organization they represent, if appropriate; and the location of the educational forum they will attend – in this case, Cambridge.

The meeting is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Cambridge Main Library, 449 Broadway, Mid-Cambridge.
