McGovern adds office hours, email, column to connect with citizens in vice mayor term
Newly elected vice mayor Marc McGovern is taking three steps to improve communication with the people of Cambridge, his office said Jan. 15:
He will hold regular office hours from 9 to 11 a.m. every Monday (except holidays) in the second-floor City Council office at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square. Drop-ins are welcome, but half-hour time slot can be scheduled with legislative aide Annie Nagle at [email protected].
McGovern publishes an email newsletter every week announcing events and meetings taking place in the coming days. “It is a great way to stay informed,” McGovern said. To sign up for the email or get events or meetings included, email Nagle.
McGovern is using a monthly column in the Cambridge Chronicle to answer three questions from citizens, which Nagle will take by email or phone at (617) 349-4280.
“As always,” McGovern said, he is “available and happy to speak with anyone outside of these opportunities.” Just schedule a meeting with Nagle, he said.

Why is this newsworthy?
Anyone can contact any councillor and set up a meeting basically anytime. Will the Cambridge Day publish this as news now?
