Nice shot: King way, way Open
Belinda Watt captured this stunning photo of what remains of the King Open School as the city prepares to replace it at 850 Cambridge St. in the Wellington-Harrington neighborhood with a $131.5 million complex including the Cambridge Street Upper School, space for preschool and community school programs and a redesign of the Valente Branch Library and Gold Star Pool. At the moment it has a nice, spacious layout.
Look closely and you’ll see an “HS” in the arch – for “Harrington School.” The Charles G. Harrington Elementary School building began hosting the King Open in 2002 after a contentious school district consolidation.
