From the Cambridgeport Neighborhood Association, Jan. 6, 2017: Reconstruction of Interstate 90 as part of the Allston I-90 Interchange Improvement Project is scheduled to begin in 2019 and will continue for four or five years, dramatically affecting neighborhoods on both sides of the river during construction and afterward.

Michael O’Dowd, project director for Interstate 90 improvements for the state Department of Transportation, will present proposed work to the community at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Central Square Library, 45 Pearl St. Along with sharing the current plan, O’Dowd will address neighborhood concerns about traffic patterns, noise abatement and easy access for residents on and off the Massachusetts Turnpike.

This presentation will be part of the Cambridgeport Neighborhood Association’s annual meeting. A quick election of two board members will precede the MassDOT presentation. Neighbors are welcome to mix and mingle from 6:30 to 7 p.m. before the meeting. All are welcome. In case of snow, this meeting will be postponed to the same time and location Jan. 26.
