From the Cambridgeport Neighborhood Association, May 31, 2017: The final Cambridgeport Neighborhood Association meeting until September is planned for 7 to 9 p.m. June 8 at the LBJ Apartments, 150 Erie St., Cambridgeport. (Snacks and a chance to meet presenters and neighbors begins at 6:30 p.m.) After a welcome, featured topics include:

bullet-gray-small Opioid use in Central Square (7:05 to 7:55 p.m.): Opioid deaths in Cambridge are up from 13 in 2015 to 26 last year, and most happen around Central Square. This segment with Cambridge police Sgt. Louis Cherubino was inspired by reports about making an overdose-reversal drug available on the street.

bullet-gray-small Commonwealth Avenue bridge construction (7:55 to 8:10 p.m.): This 24/7 project, beginning July 26 to Aug. 14 and continuing until the summer of 2018, will affect traffic around the Boston University rotary. Jim Kersten of the state Department of Transportation will speak.

bullet-gray-small Magazine Beach updates (8:10 to 8:25 p.m.): More than 40 programs have been organized, with programs kicking off June 21. Also, a splash deck is under construction, and the committee has filed with the state’s Attorney General’s Office to become a separate corporation called Magazine Beach Partners. Magazine Beach Committee members Cathie Zusy and Ken Carson will speak.

bullet-gray-small Association listserv survey results (8:25 to 8:55 p.m.): This spring the association conducted a survey via to hear people’s thoughts about the listserv. Moderator Mari Badger will talk about what respondents had to say.
