From the Council on Aging, June 12, 2017: A public forum on “Empowering Older Adults – Scams, Healthy Relationships and Personal Well-Being” will be held from 12:30 to 3 p.m. June 22 at the Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square, hosted by Cambridge’s Council on Aging.

A mini resource fair will take place at 12:30 p.m. before a performance, with various agencies presenting to provide assistance with resources and support on specific needs of older adults. Light refreshments will be served.

The performance by True Story Theater is to increase awareness about elder abuse – part of a World Elder Abuse Awareness campaign. Stories of actual challenges faced by older adults will be dramatized by the performance troupe, presented by the Cambridge Elder Abuse Prevention Coalition and funded through a Tufts Health Plan Foundation grant.

This event is free. Registration is requested but not required. To register, call Susan Pacheco at (617) 349-6220 or send email to [email protected].
