From the City of Cambridge, Sept. 8, 2017: People interested in serving on the Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities advisory board are sought by the city. Applications must be in by Oct. 23 from residents who can serve on the 11-member volunteer board for a three-year term, helping maximize access to all aspects of community life for people with disabilities; raise awareness of disability matters; eliminate discrimination; and promote equal opportunity for people with all types of disabilities – physical, mental and sensory.

Members are expected to work with other members and board staff to fulfill the goals and objectives, attend monthly meetings (the second Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the second-floor conference room of 51 Inman St.), participate in subcommittees and work on various short- and long-term projects as needed.
