The Metropolitan Area Planning Council has a $500 scholarship to award to a high school senior planning to go to college in the fall.

The rules for the Charles Eliot Scholarship, given in the memory of council founding father Charles W. Eliot II: the senior must be interested in public planning issues such as land use, transportation, open space and food system planning; and living in the council’s 101-city-and-town region in Eastern Massachusetts.

The deadline to apply is April 25, and the award will be presented at the Annual Council Meeting on May 28. Information about the scholarship and Eliot is here.
