The Lexington, a proposed Cambridge Crossing grill led by Will Gilson, comes before before the License Commission on Tuesday.

Relocating voting sites

City Council special meeting, 2 p.m. Monday. Election commissioners recommend moving 14 of the city’s 30 polling sites for the upcoming Sept. 1 primary and Nov. 3 general election away from senior care facilities, hospitals and other sites that are higher risk for spreading coronavirus. Councillors will consider a plan that moves voting mainly to school campuses. Televised and watchable by Zoom video conferencing.

A grill, a taproom, a dessert place

License Commission, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Among agenda items for the only board in town that decides on meetings dates by throwing a dart at a calendar: The Lexington, 100 N. First St., Cambridge Crossing, a Will Gilson rooftop-deck grill joint with seating for 200 people inside and 100 outside; the Artifact Cider Project, 438 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square, a brewery, tap room and retailer with proposed seating for 49, expanding from Florence; and Playa Bowls, 71 Mount Auburn St., Harvard Square, for healthy desserts and smoothies with seating for 20. Watchable by Zoom video conferencing.

Election days, Parent University and anti-racism

School Committee, 5 p.m. Tuesday. Committee members look at motions to encourage student voting and ways to keep the school community safe from coronavirus infection as more campuses are used for election days polling places; creating a Parent University with information and lessons that help caregivers “become partners in the education of their children”; and ensuring an anti-racist environment within the school district. Televised and watchable by Zoom video conferencing; information is here.

Affordable Housing Overlay, Rindge project

Planning Board, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The board takes a first pass at a revived Affordable Housing Overlay zoning petition, which could eliminate barriers to putting 100 percent affordable projects citywide, even in areas that have avoided hosting it so far; and looks at the Rindge Commons proposal for 101 units of affordable housing on the site of the Rindge Tower Apartments, 402 Rindge Ave., North Cambridge. There’s already 273 affordable apartments there, making this pretty much the flip side of the overlay petition coin. Televised and watchable by Zoom video conferencing.

Reopening for special education

School Committee Special Education and Students Supports Subcommittee, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Families of special education students get a chance to discuss concerns and hopes for fall school reopening plans. Watchable by Zoom video conferencing.
