Relocating voting sites

City Council special meeting, 2 p.m. Monday. Election commissioners recommend moving 14 of the city’s 30 polling sites for the upcoming Sept. 1 primary and Nov. 3 general election away from senior care facilities, hospitals and other sites that are high­er risk for spreading coronavirus. Committee members look at motions to encourage student voting and ways to keep the school community safe from coronavirus infection as more campuses are used for election days polling places; creating a Parent University with information and lessons that help caregivers “become partners in the education of their children”; and ensuring an anti-racist environment within the school district. Affordable Housing Overlay, Rindge project

Planning Board, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The board takes a first pass at a revived Affordable Housing Overlay zoning petition, which could eliminate barriers to putting 100 percent affordable projects citywide, even in areas that have avoided hosting it so far; and looks at the Rindge Commons proposal for 101 units of affordable housing on the site of the Rindge Tower Apartments, 402 Rindge Ave., North Cambridge. There’s already 273 affordable apartments there, making this pretty much the flip side of the overlay petition coin. Televised and watchable by Zoom video conferencing.
