Live music fans aching for some semblance of pre-Covid normalcy, look no further. The Boston Local Music Festival, which is in its second year, will stream this weekend in a virtual format.

“We couldn’t gather in person this year, but we still wanted to showcase the incredible musical talent that Boston has to offer,” said Jen Matson, creator of the festival. “It has been a tough year for musicians, but small independent businesses like Midway Cafe, The Jungle and Audio Chemists are doing their best to support all artists as we navigate this pandemic together.”

From noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, tune in and catch nearly two dozen artists streaming from locations around Boston, including the The Jungle in Union Square, Somerville, Audio Chemists in Charlestown and Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain. Artists such as Bleach The Sky, 21 Grams More, Mosaic Mirrors and Planet Mercury will join the live stream on the festival’s Facebook and YouTube page. More artists are expected to be added closer to the festival date.

The stream can be viewed free, but organizers are requesting donations to fund future festivals with the hopes they will be held in person; they call contributions also an excellent way to support local artists during a tumultuous financial time. Fans can support the festival by getting their own festival T-shirt, which will be available for purchase during the festival.
