A 54-year-old Cambridge man was arrested late Friday after a potentially life-threatening stabbing near Central Square, police said Saturday.

The victim, a 47-year-old Cambridge man, was stabbed in the leg at approximately 11:30 p.m. at 820 Massachusetts Ave., a men-only residence of 128 units run by the Cambridge Housing Authority. He was treated by officers and fire department medics on the scene and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Witnesses pointed to Jose DeLeon, a resident of the building, as the suspect in the stabbing. A knife was recovered and DeLeon was arrested without incident and will be charged with assault to murder, police said.
