Cambridge seems to be returning to business-creation numbers from before the recession began in December 2007, although that inference is based on slight data.
The city clerk’s office has registered 60 new businesses or renewals in November; it registered 59 in the same month in 2006.
In the years between, numbers were down: 49 businesses created or renewed in November 2007; and 47 in November 2008.
November of this year also looks like a significant improvement from the previous month. October showed only 41 businesses created or renewed with the city clerk.
