A free GED practice test is offered from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square (two blocks from the red line T stop). Participants must be 16 or older, not enrolled in high school and fluent in English. The center is handicapped accessible.

Scores will be available the same day and participants can get advice on what their practice scores mean with respect to their GED readiness. Those with practice scores indicating a need to improve reading, writing and math skills will be referred to GED preparation classes.

This is a service of the Cambridge Community Learning Center, a division of the cityโ€™s Department of Human Service Programs funded in part by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Walk-ins to the test are welcome, but an RSVP is encouraged by Sept. 19 by calling (617) 349-6363 or sending e-mail to clcinfo@cambridgema.gov.
