Frank John Addivinola Jr.

From the Frank Addivinola campaign, June 26: Following last night’s unfortunate outcome for Massachusetts Republicans, I am officially announcing my candidacy for the upcoming special election for Congress in the 5th District to fill the seat that will be vacated by Ed Markey.

I know many of you must be disappointed after last nights’ results because you were working hard to help Gabriel Gomez get elected to the U.S. Senate. I assume you’re reflecting on the results of the past few election cycles and wonder whether you should stay active. I am asking you not to give up and to keep fighting for our conservative principles because we all know that they are right for the people, our state and our country.

The special election in MA-5 will have a large field of Democrats in the primary. My goal is to connect with the voters in the district and clearly communicate to them that the Republican Party is the party of working people, that the Republican Party is the party that will protect the middle class, that the Republican Party is the party that cares about the needy and disadvantaged and has better solutions to help people improve their lives. We all know that our image has been distorted and demonized by the efforts of many liberal groups, but now, more than ever, it is time to take our identity back and educate Massachusetts voters about who we really are and what we stand for.

The first and foremost task will be to collect signatures to get me on the ballot. Many of you know that I am a hard-working candidate and in the past I collected the majority of my signatures. However, this time I need help because we will need to collect the 2,000 required signatures in a very short time (about three weeks), in the middle of the summer.
