090513i-Kathleen-KellyFrom the Kathleen Kelly campaign, Aug. 28: Kathleen Kelly, a candidate for Cambridge School Committee, has received the endorsement of the political arm of The National Association of Social Workers’ Massachusetts Chapter. At 8,000 members, it is called the largest social work organization in the state.

The political action arm endorses candidates with a solid and proven commitment to ensuring all people have access to health care, basic education and the opportunity to earn a fair wage, and its leaders say Kelly’s focus on inclusive school environments and equal access to education demonstrates a strong commitment to these values. “PACE is thrilled to endorse her,” they said.

Kate Audette, co-chairwoman, said, “Kathleen’s experience as a social worker, small-business consultant and Cambridge Public Schools parent will make her an asset to strengthening the work of the Cambridge School Committee. Her commitment to increasing family involvement and support is vital to student achievement. We know that Kathleen will bring a strong social work perspective to the Cambridge School Committee by advocating tirelessly for all students in Cambridge.”
