McGovern announces endorsement of Sierra Club in bid for City Council seat
From the Marc McGovern campaign, Sept. 12: The Committee to Elect Marc McGovern announced another endorsement of his campaign for City Council. Following on the heels of the Greater Boston Labor Council, Painters and Allied Trades 35, Carpenter’s Local 40 and the National Association of Social Workers, McGovern has won the endorsement of the Sierra Club.
“Marc McGovern offers an opportunity to move Cambridge toward a healthier, more sustainable future,” said Phil Sego, chairman of the Massachusetts Sierra Club Political Committee. “His leadership will move Cambridge in the right direction – the direction we need to take for our children’s future.”
McGovern said he was “excited to have received this endorsement from such a influential and important organization. Working to ensure our environment is safe for generations is vital, and I hope to be part of that conversation as a member of the Cambridge City Council.”
