Craft workers’ unions endorse Benzan, who worked in carpentry, in council run
From the Dennis Benzan campaign, Oct. 9: Laborers’ Local 151 and the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers Local 3 have endorsed City Council candidate Dennis A. Benzan, his campaign announced.
“From the year they were established until now, both the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and Laborers’ Local 151 have actively fought to improve the quality of life of its members. I paid for my college education by working in carpentry, so I cannot be any more grateful to receive the support and endorsement of organizations whose mission is to protect people like me,” Benzan said. “I know the value of treating our masons, tile setters, cleaners and other laborers with the respect they deserve. I commend these organizations for over 200 years of combined service to craftworkers who strive to teach their children the value of hard work as they lead by example.”
Laborers’ Local 151 and BAC Local 3 are the latest unions to endorse Benzan, joining the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, SEIU Local 888 and Carpenters’ Union Local 40 in their support for the attorney’s council candidacy.
