The Community Preservation Act Committee will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square.

The purpose of the hearing will be to take public comment on how to allocate Community Preservation Act Funds for fiscal year 2015. These funds can go to buy or preserve affordable housing, add to open space – a hot topic this summer with development imminent in the 15-acre Silver Maple Forest between Route 2 and the Alewife Brook Reservation – and for historic preservation projects.
