Too bad you’re not in Grades 1 through 3 at the Cambridgeport School. With Newton-born, Harvard-bred comedian B.J. Novak having sold out his Thursday reading in Harvard Square, that would be your only other way to catch him in town on tour for his “Book With No Pictures.”

The kids book is based on the federal law that whatever appears on the page must be said aloud, forcing parents and traveling writers for “The Office” to say such things as “Boo Boo Butt” and “Gluurr Ga-Wocko.” This goes over well with kids, as you can imagine. (Or as you can see in the video above.) The book was released Tuesday.

The Cambridgeport kids get Novak on Friday, before he makes his way to Wellesley for a Sunday reading and leaves his home state again.

The sold-out Harvard Book Store reading in Harvard Square is at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St. The store has an FAQ for its sold-out events here in case you can’t stand the thought of not being present as Novak says “Glug glug glug. My face is a bug” and “Fa-rumpa-jumpa.”
