Ward 6 Dems make five endorsements among candidates for School Committee
From the Cambridge Ward 6 Democratic Committee, Oct. 27, 2015: The Cambridge Ward 6 Democratic Committee has announced its endorsements in the 2015 School Committee election to be held Nov. 3. The endorsed candidates (in alphabetical order) are: Fran Cronin, Emily Dexter, Elechi Kadete, Kathleen Kelly and Patty Nolan.
In making its endorsements, the committee sought to recommend to the voters of Cambridge its best judgment as to the most qualified candidates in this year’s field, regardless of slate affiliation, said Ward 6 chair and Democratic State Committeewoman Lesley Rebecca Phillips.
“The Ward Committee took into account the candidates’ expressed positions on issues relevant to Cambridge schools, their performance at the four public forums held this month – including one sponsored by the Ward Committee itself – and their records of past accomplishments and experiences,” Phillips said.
As a local Democratic committee, Phillips said, it was limited to making endorsements of registered Democrats only, so failure to endorse candidates who are members of other political parties or are unenrolled should not be taken as any judgment, pro or con, of those candidates.
