From 350 Massachusetts for a Better Future, Nov. 23, 2105: A community forum on carbon pricing in Massachusetts for Cambridge, Arlington and Belmont residents is planned for 7:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist of Arlington, 630 Massachusetts Ave., at the corner of Pleasant Street in Arlington.

Each year, Massachusetts send $18 billion out of state to pay for fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas. By putting a price on carbon, we can reduce pollution, encourage the growth of clean energy, protect our health and keep more of our energy dollars here in Massachusetts. We’re working to make Massachusetts the first state in the nation to put a price on carbon.

Speakers are to include Marc Breslow, of ClimateXChange; Cathy Buckley, chairwoman of the Massachusetts Sierra Club; Launa Zimmaro, of the League of Women Voters; and Quinton Zondervan, of Green Cambridge.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Free parking is available on the street or across Massachusetts Avenue in lots. The event is presented by 350 Massachusetts for a Better Future.
