Municipal offices will close Thursday and Friday for the Christmas holiday, as well as on Jan. 1 for New Year’s, city officials said. Payments are not required at parking meters and pay stations on Friday and Jan. 1.

In other holiday closings:

Covid-19 testing at municipal sites will not be available from Wednesday through Friday, or Dec. 30 through Jan. 1.

Contactless holds pickup and phone service for Cambridge Public Library locations will be closed Thursday, Friday and Jan. 1. On Dec. 31, contactless holds pickup service at Central Square Branch and O’Neill Branch will end at 5 p.m. The Main Library outside book drop will be open for returns throughout the holidays, but returns will not be accepted at branch libraries on Thursday, Friday or Jan. 1. The Library’s digital collections and resources are always available online at www.cambridgema.gov/cpl.

There will be regular curbside trash, recycling and yard waste collection Thursday, but no curbside collections on Friday. Collections will be delayed one day for the rest of the week. Also, there will be regular curbside collections on Dec. 31, but no curbside collections on Jan. 1, and collections will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week. The Recycling Center, at 147 Hampshire St., will be open Tuesday and Saturday.

Curbside collection of undecorated Christmas trees will begin Jan. 2 and continue through Jan. 15, weather permitting. Trees will be collected on each route’s regular curbside collection days. Decorations and stands must be removed, and trees should not be in a plastic bag. Residents can also bring bare trees to the Recycling Center during open hours. The recycling center is open from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Streets scheduled for sweeping on Thursday will be swept Dec. 29, and streets scheduled for Friday will be swept Dec. 30. Dec. 31 will be the last day of street cleaning for the winter season; the schedule resumes in April.

Cambridge Cemetery gates will be open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season.
