Tufts Labor Coalition will rally for dining workers at 3 p.m. Friday, protesting months without pay
The Tufts Labor Coalition plans a rally in solidarity with Tufts dining workers for 3 p.m. Friday in front of Dewick Macphie Dining Hall on the Tufts University campus. The 130 workers demand that the Tufts administration either pay them this summer after a surprise cancellation of their work or allow them to collect unemployment insurance until the fall semester. Even bakers who have have at Tufts for 40 years have been left with no paycheck for more than two months, according to an email from the coalition. “Many of them have sought to collect unemployment insurance over the summer,” the group said, “but their claims have been contested by the University,”
