Local’s photo of Canada geese chicks wins in Mass Audubon contest
Cambridge’s Suzanne Teegarden was a winner in Mass Audubon’s annual statewide photography contest, “Picture This: Your Great Outdoors,” the organization said Wednesday. Teegarden, a resident of North Cambridge, took top honors in the birds category for those 18 and older for “her remarkable image taken in Watertown of Canada geese chicks resting within the feathers of a parent,” Mass Audubon said.
The competition drew more than 8,000 submissions from hundreds of photographers in categories that also included people in nature, landscapes, plants and fungi, mammals and other animals, Mass Audubon said. (The grand prize-winning photo was of a river otter at Mass Audubon’s Waseeka Wildlife Sanctuary in Hopkinton that was taken by Ian Barton of Framingham.) Winning and honorable-mention photos are at visit massaudubon.org/picturethis. (Marc Levy)
What a beautiful photo!
That is a heartwarming, beautifully detailed photo. I like the otter one, too, but I love this one and think this is the true winner.
