From the office of State Rep. Dave Rogers, on Feb. 24, 2024: Young people interested in State House internships in the office of State Rep. Dave Rogers during the summer should apply now to meet an April 11 deadline. Virtual interviews will take place in the following weeks, and applicants will be told of their status by early May. Internships are generally available to 24th Middlesex District college students, graduates and high school students who have completed their junior year of high school or above. (The district includes Belmont and parts of Arlington and Cambridge.)

“Particularly in times like these, it is rewarding to help young people begin to understand the importance of our democratic institutions,” Rogers said. Internships provide a chance for students to engage in civic affairs, learn about the legislative process and work with public policy. The Legislature also offers a Speaker Series in which interns can hear directly from and ask questions of Massachusetts political figures.

Those interested should send a cover letter and résumé to legislative aide Kira Arnott at Kira.Arnott@mahouse.gov.
