Cambridge Public Health Department Proposal to Rescind the Rules and Regulations for the Granting of Local Licenses to Practice Massage in the City of Cambridge
The Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Cambridge (Commissioner) promulgated Rules and Regulations after October 1995 and revised on November 1, 1999, with an effective date of January 1, 2000, pursuant to G.L. c.140, ยง51 and G.L. c. 111, ยง31, for the granting of licenses to practice massage in the City of Cambridge. Given that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has the authority to regulate this sector, the Commissioner has determined that the conditions necessitating the regulation at the local level no longer exist, and that maintaining said regulation is no longer in the best interest of public health or necessary for the protection of the municipality. The Commissioner proposes rescinding said rules and regulations.ย
