Marcine James Karon, 98

Marcine James Karon, who was born June 3, 1927, passed away November 28, 2025. She was 98.

Daughter of Greek immigrants, James and Cleopatra, Karon was also predeceased by brothers, Angelo and Peter and sister Julie, and survived by sister Christine. She was mother to Karen Nearhos Kosko (John), the late Jamie (Terry) Nearhos and Jody Nearhos (Maureen Trant). Yiayia (grandmother) to grandchildren Andrew Kosko (Lina), Alexandra Nearhos (George Guzman) and Nick and Kristi Nearhos. “Yiayia Mou” (great grandmother) to Miah, Emily and Angelo Kosko, Avanthia and Aliyah Nearhos. Lifelong resident of Central Square, she attended Cambridge High and Latin School and the New England Conservatory of Music. She loved all genres of music, dancing, high fashion, enjoyed traveling and was a voracious reader.
