Reuben Solo – who has been known to perform stand-up with a GoPro strapped to his forehead – brings his comedy to Cambridge on Oct. 23.

Even if Reuben Solo were to tell us more about his latest touring show, “Someone In This Crowd Will Betray Me,” would we believe him? Should we? Many may know him best for his “America’s Got Talent” appearance, in which he pressed the Golden Buzzer for himself (yes, really) – satirically advancing himself in the competition amid audience boos and downvotes from all four judges. The Australian comic has sown similar chaos onstage and across social media for years, gaining a reputation for – in the words of one reviewer – “mucking about with the form of stand-up.” This hour mucks about to explore the concept of trust, using that nightmarish moment of televised rejection as a springboard while assuring, “This show has nothing to do with that story. I doubt I’ll even mention it.” Fans of surreal, off-kilter and frankly discombobulating show experiences will want to find out which is true. If anything is.

“Reuben Solo: Someone In This Crowd Will Betray Me,” at 8 p.m. Oct. 23 at The Comedy Studio, 5 John F. Kennedy St., Harvard Square, Cambridge. $25.
