At approximately 1:00 a.m. Jan. 24, the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) responded to reports of a shooting on Chestnut Street in Riverside. No injuries were reported, and while a suspect has not been identified, CPD believes that there is no present danger to the broader community.

Police were alerted to the area by several 911 calls and notifications from a service they use called Shotspotter, which detects the sound of gunshots and automatically alerts emergency services.

โ€œUpon arrival officers located ballistic evidence confirming that a shooting had occurred,โ€ wrote the CPD in a statement. The matter is still under investigation.

The CPD asks that anyone with information related to this incident please call CPD detectives at (617) 349-3300.
