Cambridge Community Television is again providing programming about the candidates and issues to enable Cambridge voters to make informed choices on Election Day, including a library of filmed candidate statements, forums and debates, and live coverage Nov. 5.

First-term city councillor Quinton Zondervan kicks off his reelection campaign at a July 8 event in Central Square, he said in a press release that signaled an increased focus on environmental issues for a second term.

After more than a half-dozen years, Jesse Kanson-Benanav is stepping down from the chairmanship of A Better Cambridge, a group that is part of a national movement that supports housing construction, known by the term YIMBY for “Yes In My BackYard.”

The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce opposes Question 1 and supports Question 3 on the Nov. 6 election ballot, its board of directors said last week. The chamber did not take a position on Question 2.

Though started in 2016, it wasn’t until May that A Better Cambridge filed with the state’s Office of Campaign & Political Finance to be recognized as a PAC, the result of a complaint filed with the state, according to a July 13 letter by the campaign finance watchdog.

For the state primary being held Sept. 4 – the first using new ImageCast vote tabulators – absentee ballots must be requested by Friday at the latest.
