Trying to claim a bit of Coakley history, after she’s become it

A friend told me to trademark this before anyone else got to it:

Martha Coakley is the Bill Buckner of politics.

She is finished. But the line that defined her approach to campaigning — scoffing that she’d take the same crazy approach as her successful opponent: “As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?’’— isn’t. At all. We’ll be hearing it for a long time and thinking about it for longer.

Update: Of course I was too late to make the line mine. The Bill Buckner comparison is all over the place. Hey, I tried.
