Why did the turkeys cross Mount Auburn Street? To get to Mount Auburn Cemetery, apparently. North Cambridge resident Charles Teague got this shot Sunday of a couple of turkeys inspired by the autumnlike weather to take in the famed boneyard, home to a seemingly innumerable number of notable names — 19th century actor Edwin Booth, architect Charles Bulfinch, Vanity Fair founder Frank Crowninshield, Civil War medical savant Dorothea Dix, religious figure Mary Baker Eddy, legendary MIT professor Harold “Doc” Edgerton … well, let’s just say the turkeys have a lot of studying to do before the Thanksgiving break. If they last that long crossing Mount Auburn street against the signal, that is.
