Szostak

Szostak

Harvard Medical School’s Jack Szostak is a co-winner of the year’s Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on telomeres, bits on chromosomes that serve as a countdown to lifespan. The work is relevant to research in cancer and aging. Szostak, a London native, is a principal at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute as well as in Harvard’s Department of Genetics.
