Serial entrepreneurs, first-timers to meet at Web Innovations meetup
Web startups can still get in on the first Web Innovators Group meeting of 2010, including as one of three “main dish” presenters that get the chance to dominate area industry buzz for a day. And everyone else gets a chance to hear from some of the area’s most successful serial entrepreneurs.
Organizer David Beisel, of Venrock, touted the special optional breakout session, “Serial Web Entrepreneurs’ Founding Stories,” in an e-mail blast:
Following a brief intermission after the Main Dish presentations, Wade Roush of Xconomy will lead a discussion with three serial entrepreneurs sharing their multiple founding stories. Steven Kane, Tom Gerace and David Cancel have all successfully founded and sold Web startups … and now they’re doing it again and again. The topics will cover everything from attracting early team members to honing in on the right idea. Intermixing practical advice and inspirational anecdotes, the discussion will look to uncover the key ingredients to getting a Web startup off of the ground from people who have done it multiple times.
The main presenters will be decided within the next few days for the March 1 event, Beisel said.
“If your own self-/angel-funded startup is interested in presenting as either a Main or Side Dish at the forum, please reach out to me,” he said. You can do so by clicking here and providing the name of your company, site or product, a brief overview and description and a link to a live site or password-protected beta demo site.
