There are reports of gunshots fired at 9:15 p.m. Saturday near the public housing off Rindge Avenue in the Fresh Pond area, and that a man arrived at Mount Auburn Hospital shortly after having been shot in the abdomen. The hospital, citing patient privacy rules, wouldn’t confirm the arrival. Reached Sunday by telephone, Police Lt. John Lang confirmed 911 calls reporting gunfire, but wasn’t on duty Saturday night and could offer no more information.

The shooting was reported near the scene of a Feb. 10 stabbing that followed a fight. The argument and chest stabbing took place in Jefferson Park, and the 21-year-old male victim went to the Ferro’s Food Town grocery store, where someone called 911 for him.
