The city has announced the recipients of the 2010 City Scholarship Awards and said Thursday that they will be honored at a special ceremony and reception May 17 at 4 p.m., in the Sullivan Chamber of City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave.

Each year, the city awards 25 to 40 scholarships of $2,500 each to Cambridge high school seniors or others pursuing higher education. The city’s press release also acknowledged the contributions of the many citizens of Cambridge who make this scholarship program possible.

This year’s winners are:

Tanzila Ahad, Sascha Alach, Madison Andres, John Antonopoulos , Robert Barnes, Tanmoy Barua, Elias Borne , Stacy Braga , Esthefany Cepeda Deleon, Christina Chatelain, Wei-Sheng Chen, Loren Chen, David Chippendale , Alexander Chippendale, Simon Cohen, Igor DaCruz, Lydia Dejene , Nadia Elysse, Kristen Emack, Anna Gedal, Zipporah Guerin, Leah Jean-Louis, Daniel Kim, Jaime Leiva Cabrera, Isaiah Lyons-Galante, Erik Madsen-Bond , Samuel Mardell, Lisa Mashburn, Dashiell Massey, Ian McCann, Oliver Mcneely, Ruth Netzahualt, Theresa Rodrigues, Selima           Smith-Dell, Nicole Sonnert, Hikaru Sugimori, Fatima Taskomur, Imani Wong and James Yeung.
