Cambridge and Boston police and U.S. marshalls arrested Malcolm Beasley, 24, of Boston, today, charging him in a stabbing that took place shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cambridge.

Beasley was arrested at a relative’s house in Boston, police said.

He is a suspect in a stabbing Tuesday at the Youth on Fire shelter in Cambridge that took place after he had an argument with a male acquaintance.

There were multiple stab wounds, and the victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He is in stable condition, police said.

Beasley is being charged with armed assault with intent to murder, police said. A message was left with Cambridge police for more information; Boston Police said no further information was available as of Wednesday afternoon.
