In addition to 23 vendors (including the new Fishwives chowder out of Marblehead and Grillo’s pickled products out of Inman Square), Saturday’s winter farmers market has a special guest: Mike the Bubble Man’s Kids’ Bubble Spectacular, performed by comedian and actor Mike Dorval.

Dorval also runs “Mike Dorval’s ‘Trials of Love’” at the Charles Playhouse in Boston, but while that is distinctly adult — in it Dorval acts as love judge in settling domestic differences “with the help of friends, witnesses, and the audience (who may or may not come with their own partnership particulars)” — his Bubble Spectacular is meant as a way to let parents shop while their kids are entertained, according to Cambridge resident and “Trials” producer Kirsten Sims.

And how could they not be? Part of the act involves Dorval making a giant soap bubble around a younger child.

The Bubble Spectacular runs only 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., though. (“Trials of Love” runs every Saturday night at The Charles Playhouse. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.)

This is the last month for the city’s weekly farmers market, which is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at the Cambridge Community Center, 5 Callendar St., near Putnam and Western avenues in Cambridgeport.
