Among items up for bid at the Cambridgeport Spring Fling auction Saturday are, clockwise from center left, gift certificates from local restaurants such as Area Four, Tupelo and Veggie Galaxy; a gift certificate for 12 mini cheesecakes plus free delivery from 7ate9 Bakery; a 4-by-6 Persian-style rug from Yayla Tribal Rugs; a voucher for a one-night’s stay at the Charles Hotel with breakfast at Henrietta’s Table; two gift cards to Nomad boutique; and a food-and-wine gift colander from Central Bottle Wine + Provisions. Just-opened businesses aren’t waiting to get in on Cambridge civic life, with the just-opened All Star Pizza Bar, Curious George Store (launched this past week in Inman and Harvard squares, respectively), Dwelltime coffee (in mid-Cambridge since April 7) and Grillo’s Pickles pop-up (in Inman since January) jumping into the Cambridgeport Public School’s annual Spring Fling Silent Auction and Talent Show.

The list of what attendees can win keeps growing. On Saturday, only hours before the auction, Inman Square’s second new pizza place — Pizza Pie-er, which opened at the end of March — joined the list of donators, matching All-Star’s contribution, according to one the event’s organizers, Monica Velgos.

The family event, open to all, runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the school’s gymnasium, 89 Elm St., and raises funds for field trips and special projects at the school.

Cambridgeport is one of the smaller schools in the district, and the auction list is big, so chances are high each bidder can take home something special that still fits well within a budget, organizers said.

The event’s $5 per-person admission fee includes food and dessert, including pizza from the All Star Pizza Bar, vegetable trays courtesy of Harvest Co-op Market and Whole Foods and pickle spears (hot and sweet) donated by Grillo’s. Rounding out the offerings are cookies and other baked goods from Cambridgeport parent volunteers.

Attendees can browse a wide range of auction items, including vouchers for overnight stays at the Charles Hotel, MIT Meridien and Harding House; restaurant gift certificates to Craigie on Main, Flour Bakery, Cambridge Brewing, Kika Tapas, Garden at The Cellar, Rendezvous, Life Alive, Muqueca, Dwelltime and more; gift cards to New Deal Fish Market, Mayflower Poultry, Xylem gift shop, The Garment District, The Curious George Store and Franco’s Hair Studio; tickets to Red Sox games and theater performances; passes to the Peabody Essex and MIT museums; classes at Prana Power Yoga and the YMCA, imported scarves and handmade clothing; and bountiful gift baskets filled with Dado Tea, 1369 Coffee, local farmers products and specialty foods. Highlights this year include a Persian-style rug from Yayla Tribal Rugs, a weeklong summer class at School of Groove and “Dance Central 2” for Xbox from Harmonix, based in Central Square.

Each year the Spring Fling includes a student talent show during the auction to provide entertainment for the younger set. Besides singing and musical performances, this year the range of student talent includes a circus act, tap and hip-hop dancing, a martial arts demonstration and a recitation of Chinese poetry. Raffles at $1 per ticket offer the chance to win gift certificates to Henry Bear’s Park, Stellabella Toys, Magic Beans and Made by Me pottery-painting shop.

A list of all raffle and auction items is posted on the website of the school’s Parent Teacher Organization.
