The Cambridge Consumersโ€™ Council, in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Service, offers free document shredding from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9 at the Central Square Post Office, 770 Massachusetts Ave., rain or shine.

Members of the public can dispose of personal and confidential paper documents securely and on the spot in a mobile shredding truck, said Randi Mail, director of recycling for the Cambridge Department of Public Works. The remains will be sent for recycling.

Ten minute drop-off parking is to be available on Massachusetts Avenue between Sellers and Pleasant streets; on Pleasant Street between Massachusetts Avenue and Green Street; and Inman Street between Massachusetts Avenue and Bishop Allen Drive.
