Sciortino adds $200,000-plus to campaign coffers for 5th District run this quarter
From the Carl Sciortino campaign, July 8: Fifth District Congressional candidate Carl Sciortino announced Monday that his campaign raised more than $200,000 in primary election funds this past quarter, for a total of $353,420 raised overall. The campaign also reported more than 1,500 total donors, a large sum reflecting Sciortino’s broad-based, grassroots appeal among Democrats.
“Carl Sciortino’s progressive leadership has earned him a huge grassroots following and gives him the clear advantage in this race,” said Sciortino’s campaign manager, Matt Larson. “This election is a choice between candidates who call themselves ‘progressive’ when election-time rolls around and Carl Sciortino, the only candidate who has been consistently progressive on issues of equality, privacy, workers’ rights, immigration rights, women’s health, ending corporate welfare and protecting the environment.”
Carl Sciortino represents the 34th Middlesex District in the Massachusetts House, which includes parts of Medford and Somerville.
