080513i-Dennis-BenzanFrom the Dennis Benzan campaign, Sept. 18: The Service Employees International Union Local 888 and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen have endorsed local attorney and City Council candidate Dennis A. Benzan.

โ€œHis commitment to the underserved and his mind for social justice, coupled with his support of working-class people, make him an excellent choice for SEIU Local 888. We are happy to support him,โ€ said Dan Hoffer, political director for Local 888.

John Tolman, vice president and national legislative representative for BLET, said, โ€œI believe Dennis will honor his commitments to create jobs, support our most vulnerable citizens, modernize transportation infrastructure and develop policies to support the health and well-being of the people of Cambridge.โ€

The Carpenters Union Local 40 has also endorsed Benzan.

The candidate gave this statement:
