From the Red Cross, March 4, 2016: Volunteers are sought to deliver blood products to treatment facilities in the Massachusetts area from the American Red Cross of Massachusetts BioMed Facility in Dedham, the regional collection center for Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

Volunteers will get training in Red Cross procedures and on the operations of Red Cross vehicles. Volunteers would work from the Dedham office, which also processes donated blood into life-saving blood products for area hospitals and treatment facilities, but must meet the following minimum requirements: Be at least 21 years old and able to verify a safe driving record with insurance; have a valid driver’s license and minimum of three years’ experience; be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 45 pounds; and be able to volunteer for two to four shifts per month.
