The Dudley Café of artisanal yet affordable sandwiches and rice bowls opened its doors Friday. Additions to the menu by owners Solmon and Rokeya Chowdhury includes the Shanti Chicken or Veggi Puff –  chicken tikka in a pastry puff topped with tikka masala sauce – but as of now the Cambridge menu, according to the Dudley Café website, is nearly identical to the Roxbury location.

Dudley Café is at 1663 Massachusetts Ave., in the Baldwin neighborhood between Harvard and Porter squares. It’s open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Vegetarian New England fare

Clover Food Lab has summer-themed food prep boxes available: the Cape Cod Box and Lobster Roll Kit, which hold all the seafood you think they would – fish and chips, clams, lobster – except it’s all made of vegetables. Each box is able to feed four people.

“Are veggie lovers in the Northeast really never to experience the rich, luscious, buttery satisfaction of an overstuffed lobster roll in a perfectly toasted bun?” Clover asks. “In the past few years chefs have been discovering that you can pay homage to our favorite seafood recipes by using beautiful veggies.” Here, blue oyster mushrooms stand in for clam strips; king oyster mushroom for lobster;  hearts of palm for the cod in the fish and chips; and the chowder is filled with shiitake mushroom.

The king oyster mushrooms “are firm, flaky and sweet, and when simmered in a proper paprika-butter stock, they’ll become lobster-pink,” Clover says.

The Cape Cod Box ($100) and Lobster Roll Kit ($75) can be picked up or delivered July 14.
