The rooftop bar and street-level restaurant that closed last month at the 907 Main boutique hotel in Central Square are due to be replaced by the owners of other area restaurants.

The Blue Owl, the rooftop bar, will be filled by Saigon Babylon by Vinh Le and wife Duong Huynh of the nearby Cicada Coffee Bar and the Vietnamese restaurant The Eaves in Somerville’s Union Square. There were few details.

“We’re still in the process of figuring out a timeline,” they said by text, suggesting people keep looking on Instagram for information.

The ground-floor dining spot that was once The Dial will be taken by the husband-and-wife duo behind a well-loved Italian restaurant around the corner from 907 Main on Massachusetts Avenue to put a creative spin on American cuisine with locally sourced ingredients.

Vialé co-owners Shauna Reyburn and Greg Reeves said they are taking over the space with a neighborhood spot called Althea that they hope to have open in late April in time for outdoor dining. The restaurant and bar location comes with an enclosed courtyard.

The owners hope to bring backyard parties to the dining scene. The patio will be transformed into Backyard at Althea and feature a grill, live music and a raw bar, Reyburn and Reeves said. While menu details have not been revealed, they said to expect fresh seafood and food made from locally grown vegetables and thoughtfully sourced ingredients.

“Althea is the goddess of healing and we believe food, drinks and humans help heal the soul,” said Reyburn in an email.

The 67 guest-room hotel 907 Main hotel was opened by developer Patrick Barrett at the south end of Central Square – an area known as Lafayette Square – in 2020, along with The Dial. The Blue Owl followed in 2021. An Instagram post on Jan. 17 announced the permanent closing of the eateries, news first reported by Marc Hurwitz of Boston Restaurant Talk.

“We thank you all for being part of the Dial and Blue Owl community and a part of the diverse neighborhood that gives Central Square its unique energy,” the post says. “Together we celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, Pride months and return-to-office cocktails; whatever the occasion, we were grateful that you chose to spend it here with us.”

A voice mail was left last week with Barrett seeking information.

Vialé is at 502 Massachusetts Ave., only a three-minute walk from where Althea will open. The Cicada Coffee Bar is at 106 Prospect St., The Port, less than a 10-minute walk. The Eaves is at Bow Market, 1 Bow Market Way, Union Square, Somerville.
