A panel on Monday looking at the upcoming presidential election is drawing some political and media all-stars to Harvard, led by Brian Stelter, the chief media analyst for CNN Worldwide.

โ€œBreaking Insightsโ€ promises a look at the race between vice president Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump โ€“ one that polls show at razor-thin margins โ€“ with the panel dissecting โ€œpotential seismic shifts ahead and the evolution of American politics.โ€ The 6 to 8 p.m. event takes place at Harvard Law School, starting with a 45-minute reception (online participants will videoconference in at 6:45 p.m.).

In addition to moderation by Stelter, who returned to CNN a month ago after it canceled his Sunday morning media roundtable show โ€œReliable Sourcesโ€ in 2022, the panel is to include: Lisa Desjardins, a correspondent for โ€œPBS News Hourโ€; David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center and its polling operation; and Kimberly Atkins Stohr and James Pindell of The Boston Globe. Stohr is an opinion writer and columnist and appears on MSNBC and NBCโ€™s โ€œMeet the Pressโ€; Pindell is a Globe political reporter.

The free panel discussion is sponsored by the Harvard Kennedy School New England Alumni Association, Harvard Law School Association of Massachusetts and Harvard Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy. Itโ€™s coordinated by the alumni groupโ€™s Bill Seymour, an adjunct professor and journalist, and Rob Werner, the New Hampshire state director of the League of Conservation Voters.

โ€œBreaking Insightsโ€ is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Milstein West Room, Harvard Law School, 1585 Massachusetts Ave., in the Baldwin neighborhood near Harvard Square, Cambridge. RSVP for the in-person event here and the 6:45 p.m. remote event here.
